2026 Town Hall Form
COMMUNITY NOTICE | COUNCIL TOWN HALL EVENTS

Council is pleased to advise that Councillors and the Executive Leadership team will be conducting Town Hall Events across the Shire on Monday 31 August 2026 and Tuesday 01 September 2026.

Community members are encouraged to submit agenda items and questions related to Council’s Operational Plan 2026-2027 on the Town Hall Form(PDF, 303KB)  and submit to mail@weddin.nsw.gov.au no later than Monday 24 August 2026.

Council encourages our community to attend one of the events:

Application to carry out works within a public road reserve (Sec 138)

Council has an application to carry out works within a public road reserve (Section 138) form which is required to be filled out. Works that require approval within the road reserve (which includes the footpath and any area outside the property boundary) include activities such as: -

  •  erecting a structure
  • constructing a driveway
  • installing stormwater drains
  • removing or interfering with a structure
  • or any other activities as defined within the Roads Act 1993.

2027 AUSTRALIA DAY | NOMINATIONS OPEN

Weddin Shire Council is pleased to advise that the 2027 Weddin Shire Australia Day Award Nominations are now open.

Council are seeking nominations for the following categories:

  • Weddin Shire Citizen of the Year
  • Weddin Shire Senior Citizen of the Year
  • Weddin Shire Community Event/Organisation of the Year
  • Weddin Shire Community Achievement Award

  • Weddin Shire Junior* and Senior Sportsperson of the Year (new).

Do you know someone who consistently goes above and beyond, an organisation making a meaningful contribution, an event that brings people together, or a sportsperson achieving outstanding results? Council encourages you to submit a nomination so their efforts can receive the recognition they deserve. Previous award winners and nominees may be nominated again.

*Junior Category is for 18 Years and under.

This year, the nomination form(PDF, 376KB)  is an electronic nomination form. Please complete the form on your computer and email to mail@weddin.nsw.gov.au or alternatively pop in to the Visitor Information Centre and the team will assist you to complete the nomination form.  The nomination forms are available on Council’s website at:  https://www.weddin.nsw.gov.au/Council/Forms

Building, Development & Planning

From 1 July 2021, all Development Applications, Complying Development Certificates, Construction Certificates, Occupation Certificates and other documents must be lodged online via the

NSW Planning Portal (https://www.planningportal.nsw.gov.au/)

Applicant resources, how-to use, quick reference guides and other resources designed to assist applicants using the NSW Planning Portal can be found at

Applicants will no longer be able to submit their development applications directly to Weddin Shire Council.

A Guide to the Post Consent process(PDF, 10MB) for residential development has been published by NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure in May 2026.

Council still requires relevant applications and supporting documentation throughout the development application process. Attached at the end of this page are some of Council's forms which are required to be completed and uploaded on the NSW Planning Portal. A brief description of these forms and when they are required can be found below:

  • Owners Authorisation Form - To be completed and uploaded on the NSW Planning Portal at the Development Application lodgment stage.
  • Principal Certifier Contract - To be completed and uploaded on the NSW Planning Portal at the Construction Certificate/Complying Development lodgment stage.
  • Statement of Environmental Effects - To be completed and uploaded on the NSW Planning Portal at the Development lodgment stage.
  • Commencement of Work - To be completed and uploaded on the NSW Planning Portal once the Construction Certificate/Complying Development has been determined and PRIOR to any work commencing.
  • Cost summary table (for development under $3 million) - For DA/CDC applications lodged on or after 4 March 2024 (pursuant to Section 6 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2021.
