WEDDIN SHIRE CHRISTMAS DISPLAY COMPETITIONS

 

Weddin Shire Council is spreading festive cheer across the Shire with the annual Christmas Display Competitions. Residents in Grenfell, Caragabal, Greenethorpe, Bimbi, and Quandialla are encouraged to decorate their homes, gates, mailboxes, and properties to help light up the Shire this Christmas season.

These friendly competitions are a wonderful way to bring neighbours together, showcase community spirit, and make Weddin Shire a bright and welcoming place for both locals and visitors.

Grenfell
Join in the holiday cheer with Grenfell’s Best Christmas Display Competition. Cash prizes are up for grabs for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Winners will be announced at the Lions and Community Christmas Carnival on Friday 19 December 2025.

Caragabal

Light up Caragabal with the Christmas Lights, Ramp and Mailbox Competition.
Judging will take place on Thursday 18 December 2025, with winners announced at the Caragabal Street Party on Friday 19 December 2025. To enter, contact Donna Pursehouse at donna_pursehouse@hotmail.com

Greenethorpe

Get into the festive spirit with Greenethorpe’s Christmas Lights and Gate Competition.
Enter by texting or emailing Elizabeth Watt on 0419 436 258 or liz@felixrams.com
Winners will be announced at the Australia Day Ceremony in January 2026.

Bimbi

Take part in Bimbi’s Best Farm Gate or Village Display Competition on Saturday 13 December 2025.
Simply take a photo of your display and bring it with you to the Bimbi Christmas Party for judging.
Winners will be announced during the event.

Quandialla

Enter Quandialla’s Village or Mailbox Christmas Decorations Competition for your chance to win cash prizes. Winners will be announced at the Quandialla Bowling Club Christmas Party on Saturday 14 December 2025 at 5pm. “Christmas displays help bring our communities together and create a warm, welcoming atmosphere right across the Shire,” said Elly Hinde, Tourism, Arts and Events Officer at Weddin Shire Council. “We encourage everyone to get involved, have some fun, and help light up Weddin Shire this festive season.”
