CSIRO WEDDIN SHIRE RESILIENCE SURVEY WRAPS UP

Weddin Shire residents Melissa Ray, Glen Ivins and Gary Lowe are the winners of the Weddin Shire Resilience Survey draw, taking home their share of $1000 in gift cards.

The resilience survey, led by CSIRO, Australia’s national science agency, has now finished. The Weddin Shire Council thanks all residents for their involvement in the survey with well over 250 people participating ahead of the 29 February 2024 closing date.

The survey data will inform an Integrated Resilience Assessment Report. This report will inform strategies and plans that will improve the community’s preparedness and resilience to future droughts and other extreme weather events. The Integrated Resilience Assessment Report will provide an evidence base for community planning, including local priorities and proposals for government funding. It will also provide a baseline for assessing impacts of initiatives that aim to build community resilience. CSIRO anticipated the Integrated Resilience Assessment Report will be provided to Weddin Shire Council by June 2024.
