EASTER RECYCLING COLLECTION

Residents are hereby advised that the recycling collection will be as usual on Friday 2 April 2021 and Monday 5 April 2021 despite the Easter public holidays.

ROAD WORKS – NOWLANS ROAD

Residents are hereby advised that Council will be carrying out gravel resheeting works on Nowlans Road from Monday 12 April 2021 until early July 2021, weather permitting.

The resheeting will start at the intersection of Nowlans Road and Bimbi-Quandialla Road and work progressively north for approximately 15kms to the edge of the seal. Minor clearing, table drain reinstatement and extensions to the existing stormwater network will also be undertaken along the way.

During these works residents can expect heavy machinery to be active and as such, traffic control will be in place. Some noise and dust disturbance is expected due to the use of various plant and equipment onsite, however any impact to residents will be minimised where possible.

Please direct any queries or concerns to Council’s Engineering department during business hours Ph: 6343 1212.

Council apologises for any inconvenience caused.

BREASTSCREEN VAN VISIT TO GRENFELL

Residents are hereby advised that the mobile BreastScreen NSW van will be stationed in front of Vaughn Park on Melyra Street, Grenfell from 23 March 2021 until 15 April 2021 and women of the Weddin Shire are encouraged to book a free mammogram.

Western NSW Local Health District advises that breast screening every two years is incredibly important for women aged 50 – 74 for the following reasons: -

  • breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women in NSW
  • 1 in 7 women in NSW will be diagnosed with breast cancer by age 85
  • 9 out of 10 women diagnosed with breast cancer do not have a family history
  • a mammogram can pick up cancers that cannot be seen or felt
  • a mammogram every two years takes just 20 minutes and it could save your life

Bookings can be made online at https://book.breastscreen.nsw.gov.au/ or via Phone: 13 20 50.
