The 143rd Grenfell Show was held on Friday 30th August and Saturday 31st August 2019 and was an outstanding success.  A very big crowd attended over the two days enjoying the many activities on offer in exceptional weather.  The spectacular fireworks on Friday night were certainly a very popular highlight and were enjoyed by the crowd. The Grenfell Show is a major event on our calendar each year and Council certainly appreciate the many hours of preparation and planning that was undertaken by the committees in organising the event.

Congratulations to Grenfell Show President Courtney Taylor and Ladies Show Auxiliary President Joan Eppelstun and their respective committees for the excellent manner in which the show was held.

The new exhibition at the Grenfell Art Gallery is the ‘Our Wardrobe: Bringing Characters to Life for 60 years’ Presented by the Grenfell Dramatic Society. The exhibition will be on display from 11 September to 20th October, 2019.  Following the exhibition opening at 7pm on the 11th September, the Dramatic Society will be holding Radio Plays ‘The Maltese Falcon’ & ‘Easy Aces’. Tickets $10 (include tea/coffee) – Available from CJ Andersons.

The Grenfell Dramatic Society is excited to showcase their wardrobe’s most beautiful vintage clothing, along with the production costumes that have brought their characters to life over the 60 years the Society has been active. Take a walk down memory lane and wander through the years in both fashion and their local theatrical productions. The society began in 1957 performing drama plays before holding the first large musical production “Salad Days” in 1968.  After the success of the first production, the wardrobe expanded rapidly with the inception of a “Wardrobe Committee”.

The Art Gallery is open Monday to Friday 10am - 4pm, Saturday 10am - 3pm & Sunday 10am -2pm.

The next movie to be screened at the Grenfell Cinema will be ‘Rocket Man’ on Saturday 21 September, 2019 at 8pm. Please see the adjacent advertisement for further details.

Finally a reminder that the Caragabal Sheep Races will be held this Saturday 14 September, 2019 and are a family friendly fun day out! It's a six race program with gates opening at 11.30am and the first race at 12.30pm.
