Rates

Rates are a levy on land and make up approximately 25% of Council's total revenue. Council is responsible for levy of General and Sewerage Rates as well as Garbage Charges. Rates are levied and issued by Council in July of every year.

Rates may be paid in full or by 4 quarterly instalments. If paying in full the total amount should be paid by 31st August to avoid interest and similarly if paying by instalments the amount must be paid by the due date to avoid interest.

The due date for instalments are:-

  • 31st August
  • 30th November
  • 28th February
  • 31st May

PAYMENTS

Rates may be paid at Council's Office during Office Hours or at the Quandialla Post Office who are an agency for Council by either cash or cheque.

Council also uses the BPay System for both Rates and Debtors - the required information to pay using this method is shown on the relevant accounts when they are sent to you.

Direct payments may be made to Council's Bank Account by arrangement with your bank, please take your rate assessment number with you for identification with Council.

In Reference area please make a note of your Assessment number. If enough space is available please put your surname as well.

The other option is to post your rate payment into Council's office together with the bottom section of your rate notice.

PENSIONERS

Ratepayers who are eligible pensioners may claim a rebate on their rates. They are required to present their pension card at Council's office when they receive the first notice each year.
